Hi I have posted this site before, the Library of Congress has an image of a map of Rockbridge Co around the civil war era. The map is labeled with many of the names of the residents who occupied the area at the time. The site is worth checking out. http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/gmdhtml/gmdhome.html On the opening page click on Subject index, scroll down to "United States - Virginia--Fairfax County", click on that, on the next page scroll down to "United States- Virginia- Rockbridge County", Click on that one to get the map to come up, you can download, print, or zoom in to browse it.
