Does anyone know where that would be located and if it still exists? I would love to be able to visit Isaac Anderson's grave. He was an original Borden Grant pioneer in 1741. I would like to take my nephew there...he actually attends summer camp in Goshen!

    3. Looking for the marriage of Susan Sours/Sowers. Susan was born Sept 16, 1782, I do not know where. I believe that she was married in either Rockbridge/Augusta or Rockingham Co. She was married to John Miller, John Keller or John Heller. Susan died Feb 12, 1850. Her death is recorded in the Family Bible of James Conner and his wife Elizabeth (Norcross) Conner. James and Elizabeth were married in 1844 and that is when the dates in the Bible began to be recorded. I believe that Susan Sours/Sowers had a sister named Lydia who married Levi Jernagin. Lydia (Sours/Sowers) Jernagin was born January 18,1893 and died March 11, 1854. I am trying to determine what connection the Sowers/Miller?/Heller?/Keller? or Jernagin family had with the Conner or Norcross families. In many recent e-mails the name of Henry Miller is mentioned as being associated with a forge or steel plant. I know my Norcross ancestor was also employed as a "Hammerman" at a forge for some time in Rockbridge Co. Could the John Miller in my Bible be the son or relative of Henry Miller? Any information would be extremely appreciated. Keith Reed Arlington, Tx.

Also a note written by George Campbell giving dau Sarah, permission to marry - I think - I have to study it some more. Thanks for reply, Virginia

Apparently he died after this census as Elizabeth is the head for 1850 & 1860. Does anyone know who Elizabeth's parents are--Adam or Michael Wilhelm? I checked the wills in the Courthouse but only males are listed. I've been told that these Wilhelm boys m 2 Dietrich sisters in PA. I know that Michael went on to IN and applied for a pension, which was denied??? Also, does anyone know if Elizabeth re-married after 1860? I find Elizabeth LEWIS living with Elizabeth's son Andrew Egnor in WV --could this be Elizabeth AGNER Lewis? I've checked for marriages but have not located anything in WV. Any help is appreciated. Here is what I have for info, starting with the first generation. All of the info I am giving you is sourced and documented, if I am NOT sure of an item, I state so in (). On all of the Vest persons, I am working backwards from a later descendent to TRY and establish the PROBABLE years of birth. John Vest born circa 1750-1770 (I only have the document he wrote to establish his son's marriage in 1823.) I have absolutely no other info for him. I do not know if he was actually present in Amherst county at the time of his son, William's marriage, or if the note was sent with one of the parties that were present., it is attached as a separate item to the marriage record, which leads me to believe he was not actually present at the wedding. William G. Vest born circa 1795-1805 (I base this on the fact that a note was sent to establish his age as legal, he either looked young still or was just barely of age in 1823. On 7 Mar 1823 he married Mary 'Polly' Byas/Bias (daughter of Joel & Elizabeth (Harrison) Bias of Amherst Co, VA. William G Vest and Mary had at least 2 daughters, Cassandra born 4 Jul 1828 (married Henry Byas/Bias, and Elizabeth Vest born abt 1825 (married Mansfield Noel), Matilda Vest MAY have been a twin sister of Elizabeth Vest (?) William G Vest was either dead or had moved from the area of Amherst Co, VA by 1850, At the time of the 1850 Census Mary 'Polly' (Byas/Bias) Vest was living with her daughter Elizabeth. 2 doors away were Henry Bias and Cassandra (Vest) Byas/Bias. Of interest, to a tie for this family in Rockbridge Co, VA at this same timeframe. Phoebe Bias Bryant (widow) & the sister of Mary "Polly" (Bias) Vest was married to James Rowsey of Rockbridge Co, VA. Is it possible that William Vest & Mary Polly Bias may have met when she was visiting her older married sister, Phoebe Rowsey???
