Surnames: BOUSMAN, GEARHART, SCHMIDT, SIMON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4BC.2ACI/1887.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: According to the marriage records for Rockbridge Co, VA Larence Bousman Jr. married Sarah Elizabeth Gearhart on 7/23/1792 with Henry Gearhart signing the marriage bond. That means that Sarah Elizabeth was under 18 as he had to sign for her. Larence Bousman Sr. was b. abt 1725 in Frielaubersheim, Germany and came to America on the ship "The Neptune" in 1746, landing first in Heidleberg Tnsp, Lancaster, Co, PA 1756. He first married Sophia Schmidt on 7/29/1754. They had 7 children: John (1755), Sophia (1757), Frances (1759), Margaret (1761), Eve (1762), Larence Jr.(1768) and Caterine (1770). Sophia died abt. 1772 (possibly in childbirth) and Larence Sr. then married Mary Simon in 1774 and they had at least 7 children: Jacob (unknown), George (1775), Elizabeth (1777), Adam (1784), Susanna (1786), Mary (1796)and Phillip (1798). I suspect that there were other children in that 10 year gap, but have no names. Larence Sr. died in 1808 in Franklin Co, PA. I have not found the cemetery he was buried in yet, nor do I know where either of his wives are buried. I descend from Larence Bousman Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Gearhart through their son Samuel who married Sarah Elizabeth Hall in Rockbridge Co., VA in 1792. They migrated first to Champaign Co, OH and finally to Miami Co, OH. I do not know where they are buried in Miami Co, OH although I suspect it is in Elizabeth Township. That is where they lived.
