Hello all, Recently, I've become interested in some old paintings my grandmother used to own. These pieces were distributed among relatives after the sale of her house in the late 1980's. Because of programs like the ANTIQUE ROAD SHOW, I've started to pay attention to signatures on some of these paintings. A couple of names show up in Prince William County census records. One painting of a landscape at my sister's house has the signature C.SLACK and is dated 1920. There are Slack's in the 1880 census. Another painting has the signature F.HARRIS. There are many Harrises in Prince William County Records. There is one item with a BRUCE CRANE signature--another one--a painting of a lighthouse is signed GLADYS NORWOOD. I've tried some online art directories which were not very helpful. I thought someone from the list might have a clue. Thanks for sticking with this rambling post.
