Charles: In a book I have in my possession it indicates that Nicholas Meriwether and Elizagbeth Crawford of New Kent Co., VA had a family of 9 children. Their 2nd child was a daughter named Jane Meriwether who married Col. Robert Lewis of Belvoir. Hope that this is of some help. Bernie in Northern Virginia

Thanks, the Lewis'and Newmans darn near populated the US starting back in the early 1600s, or so it seems. I have been told our link is thru Meriwether's uncle, of which Col. Nicholas was one, but have not been able to trace the Brawner's back to find the link.
