Is anyone else researching the THOMAS or JONES families of the Dumfries area? My great-great-grandparents John THOMAS (b ca 1807) and Sarah JONES THOMAS (b ca 1815) had at least ten children. It appears, from my research, that the family may have lived on the Potomac River, possibly in "Quantico Neck". Can anyone tell me exactly where "Quantico Neck" is/was? Thank you. Shelley

I am researching All Harrolds, Harrells, Harrills etc. in northern Va..between 1700 and 1800 in an attempt to find a connection to my line who settled in western N.C. before 1800.. I am especially interested in Richard Harrill, Harrold etc. who lived in Prince William county, Va..when he bought a tract of land from Capt. William Russell abt. 1740.. Question: Who was father of Richard Harrill etc. Sr. who gave his sons land near the Augusta-Frederick County line in 1749-51. Deeds are in Augusta county records...Deed for land purchased from Russell is in Orange County Records and it states that Richard is of Prince William Co...
