    3. I did not see the posting (original email) on this subject. I have also talked to the Community Relations folks on Quantico Marine Base about visiting cemeteries on the base. I was told by an officer, the person that replied to the message below is a Cpl, that if ANYONE wants to visit a cemetery on board Quantico Marine Base that they can provide detailed maps and will even provide an escort so you don't get lost - remember that some areas of the base are quite wild. This escort is also a good idea to because some cemeteries are in training areas. Also, I was told the escort will be ready to unlock any locked gates. This can shorten walking distances. The person I talked to further stated that in some cases the escort can and will provide a ride in a four wheel drive vehicle if that area would not be accessible by passenger car. My understanding is you would be expected to follow the escort vehicle as far as possible. Overall they seemed VERY cooperative. Community relations told me that the escort would most likely come from the "Range Control Office". These guys and gals are the folk that manage the training areas. They know what areas are being used for exercises and have VAST knowledge of the base and base safety.
