Hi Lynn, Sorry I don't know the information you requested, but my Cross family lived down the road from the Brawners. They're very near each other on the censuses. John Cross and family lived at Rock Hill Farm which is off of what is now Pageland Lane. Following the battle of Aug. 29, 1862, a disabled gun (looked like a cannon to me, but they called it a Parrott rifle) was left behind. The Cross boys evidently came across the gun and claimed it as a war trophy and it evidently stayed at the Cross farm until the 1940s, when it mysteriously disappeared. There is (or at least was-I haven't checked the site in quite some time) a picture of it on the Battle of Bull Run National Park site. The two oldest sons of John, John (Pheen) and Hamilton enlisted at Stryder's Mill in Co. A, 4th VA Cav. Pheen was wounded in action May 7, 1864, and Ham was paroled in April 1865. Bonnie in OKC
