Dear Listers Can anyone tell me if there was a William Webster, born before 1770, who died in Prince William County before 1850. If there is such a person, did he leave a will? I believe this William Webster may have been the husband of my Lucy Haislip. I believe they were the parents of Matilda Webster (who married Caleb Simpson) and Lucy Ann Webster (who married (William) Lloyd Brawner). I can't help you with the Webster you're looking for at least not right now. I think the Prince William County Library (Bull Run Branch) has an index of Wills and/or Probates but I'm not absolutely sure. You may want to contact Don Wilson, Virginiana Room Librarian, to see if such a list exists. He might be willing to do a brief look up to at least tell you if a Will exists. I don't imagine they'd have the whole Will on file. However, there is a section of the County Clerk's office dedicated to historical stuff like old Wills. Once again, I don't know their hours or if they will do simple searches. Don Wilson is VERY knowledgeable and may know. I once lived in that other county. Two are listed in the phone directory. I noticed this surname in your listing. If the families are mixed together that early you might want to contact them. I realize this is a long shot but who knows... I've hit a couple like that. I'd be glad to forward the phone numbers and addresses for these people if you're interested.
