I would like to know more about the George MAYHUGH was was the father of Mary Catherine MAYHUGH, who married John R. KEYES in 1891. She supposedly is the daughter of George and Isabella MAYHUGH. I will call him "George I." George II appears in the 1900 census. He was born in 1845. His wife's name is Jane (b. 1853). She is too young to be Mary C.'s mother. If this is the right George, he must have had an earlier wife. (He and Isabella have been married 24 years, which puts their marriage in 1876.) Sorry, Dawn, I did not write down any other details. George III appears in the Miracode index to the 1910 census of Virginia, which lists George Maryhugh [sic] (78), his wife Fannie W. (42), and children Frank P. 16, Custus Lee 14, Harry C. 12, and Mary Louise 10. They all are Virginians by birth (Prince William County, e.d. 93, household 93). The Miracode index to the 1910 census of Virginia also lists George IV. (Bet you thought we were going to stop with George III.) George Mayhugh is in Fairfax County, VA. He is 36 years old (e.d. 25, household 25). His wife Harriet is 35. His children are Rosa (15), Gracie (14), Gustie (a boy, 14), Emma (10), Lloyd (9), Daisie (6), and William (4). These are not the only ones! Rockingham County has a half-dozen George MAYHEWs. But I'd be glad to have some leads on the northern Virginia ones. Best, Laura
