According to the Prince William Government page on birth records at http://www.co.prince-william.va.us/health/newpage7.htm, you need to contact the Va. Bureau of Vital Statistics at http://www.vdh.state.va.us/misc/f_08.htm If you click on Forms at http://www.vdh.state.va.us/misc/vtlapp.htm, you can download a Application for Certification of a Vital Record. Also, check the Virginia State Library site at http://www.lva.lib.va.us/ Look at http://www.lva.lib.va.us/pubserv/genie.htm which is the Genealogical Research site at the library. Unfortunately, I'm not sure there's any really good on-line information about Richard Bruce Hynson, but you can work your way around the Prince William and Va. State Library systems. Hi Lynn, Sorry I don't know the information you requested, but my Cross family lived down the road from the Brawners. They're very near each other on the censuses. John Cross and family lived at Rock Hill Farm which is off of what is now Pageland Lane. Following the battle of Aug. 29, 1862, a disabled gun (looked like a cannon to me, but they called it a Parrott rifle) was left behind. The Cross boys evidently came across the gun and claimed it as a war trophy and it evidently stayed at the Cross farm until the 1940s, when it mysteriously disappeared. There is (or at least was-I haven't checked the site in quite some time) a picture of it on the Battle of Bull Run National Park site. The two oldest sons of John, John (Pheen) and Hamilton enlisted at Stryder's Mill in Co. A, 4th VA Cav. Pheen was wounded in action May 7, 1864, and Ham was paroled in April 1865. Bonnie in OKC
Dear Listers I am interested in finding out about the family who lived at Brawner's Farm. Capt. John C Brawner and Jane Clark lived at Brawner's Farm as tenant farmers and raised their family there. What was John C Brawner's full name? Who were his parents? 1. JOHN C1 BRAWNER1 was born 1798 in Maryland, and died Aft. 1870. He married JANE Bef. 1826 in Virginia. Capt. John Brawner married Jane Clark in Westmoreland Co., Va on Jan.13, 1827. There was a William Brawner married to a Fanney Nash in Westmoreland Co., Va Jan. 10, 1820. James Brawner married Kitty Anthoney Jan. 8, 1838 in Westmoreland Co., Va. Henry Brawner married Ann Caddaen in Westmoreland Co., Va. on Dec. 21, 1811. I would bet that the H. stood for Henry, a popular name back then and one of the children is named Henry. It's a thought.
Carol, Sorry, forgot to ask...do you know if they had a sister named Margaret who married David Wickliffe COMBS? I have her father as Richard LUCKETT but no further information on the family. Anne
I have a William Seymour LYNN m. to Selina E. LUCKETT, but my year for the marriage is 1832. If your date is right, then none of these children were hers. Do you know if he was married before? If so, to whom? My computer crashed and I'm restoring my information. I lost a lot of my sources. Can't seem to find the source for the marriage date. Hope you can help me get this straight. Sat down to look at your chart. I have the following, all copied from the Pohick Church list of members book: William Seymour Lynn=Angeletta Mallory Selecman | Carl Seymour Lynn Sr.=Mary Catherine Akers 1893-1969 | 1894-1958 Carl Seymour Lynn Jr.=Martha Tabb Roberts 1925-1988 | 1928- -----------------------------------------------------------------| - -------------------------------------------- | | | | | William Harmon Lynn Andrew Carl Lynn Richard Roberts Lynn Mary Tabb Lynn | Carl Seymour Lynn III This differences somewhat from what you have, and adds to it quite a bit. I would like your comments so I can get this straightened out, and you know them far better than I. Charlie McNett
Just thought I'd mention the following for those who are researching the LYNN families in PWCo., or may have LYNN connections. I've just revamped my web page devoted to the LYNN surname in PWCo. so that it's a bit easier to navigate. I've also added transcripts of Prince William County LYNN deeds and wills. The URL is: http://members.aol.com/lynnpwco/index.htm In the near future I plan to add LYNN military and census records to the site. Hope this proves useful to someone out there! -- Carolyn Carolyn G. Lynn lynnpwco@aol.com http://members.aol.com/lynnpwco/index.htm

I would appreciate any information about a Joseph Wells b. abt 1765 possibly in Prince Wm. county, VA d.1844 that county. He had three wives, last one believed to be Kaziah. The three marriages produced 7 children: Mary, Joseph, Isaac, Henry, Sanford, Lydia and Payton. Joseph was a farmer and owned a 100 acre farm 8 miles N.E. of Prince William county Court House on the waters of Bull Run. The land was purchased from Robert Spittle. E.W.
