1. [VAPWILLI-L] William Beckham - 1810 Census
2. Hi Listers! My 3GGrandfather appears on the Pr. Wm. 1810 census with his wife and children. I can find no trace of him elsewhere in this county. Has anyone run across _any_ Beckham or Beckam families here? By 1820 he has moved to Loudoun Co. as he is on the census there; his daughter Nancy m. Burr Harrison Legg in 1813, Loudoun Co. William was b. 1772, m. 1795 - both in VA with no further location. It would be great to find his parents and siblings..... Gloria in MD GALBINAK@aol.com

3. Dettingen Parish was located in Prince William Co. Va it was established from Hamilton Parish in 1744. The only records I know of from the Parish are the following book. Records of Dettingen Parish Prince William County, Virginia Vestry book, 1745-1785 Minutes of Meetings of the Overseers Of The Poor, 1788-1802 Indentures, 1749-1782 The publication of this book was done by Historic Dumfries Virginia Inc., as a bicenntennial project. Hope this helps you some. 2. Fannie Slaughter married 12/12/1894 William R. Hardesty, daughter of Edward C. Slaughter and Belle Allison Milton. Mary Clark born 11864 married James Hardesty Children: Ollie (Oliver) Vesta Hardesty Ellen Yancy married Hon. W. H. Legg, promoted sergeant, wounded at first Manassa, Fredericksburg and Drury's Bluff; captured June 1862 at Chafiin's Farm near Richmond. Held at Ft. Delware. Ambrose C. Legg enlisted 1863; 21st. Va, Infantry, Johnston's Division; killed at Spots. Court House. James W. Legg enlisted April 1861; Co. C., 13th Va. Infantry, Pegram's Brigade, Early's Division Peyton E. Legg, enlisted Sept. 1862; Co. C. 13th Va. Infantry, Pegram's Brigade, Early's Division; captured October 1864 at Culpeper; held at Washington. Alec Legg enlisted June 1861; Co. E, 7th Virginia Infantry, Kemper's Brigade; killed at Gettsyburg July 3, 1862. John Legg enlisted November 1861, Co. E, 7th Va. Infantry; wounded; served 4 years. I suggest it would be of big help for you to buy the book titled Notes on Culper by Green 1900. There is more to much to type. Because you did not list the first names I assume you are looking for any and all of the surnames you mentioned. This book is a great invetment for Culpeper history. The one thing I understand is this book has no copywright and can be used word for word. I paid $25.00 for my book through the genealogy store named Hearthstone BookShop, it is on line click on the following underlined: Hearthstone Bookshop Taken from book Historical Notes on Culpeper County (Green's Notes) It seems these names are also from Kentucky or moved to Kentucky. 2. To all interested in Prince William historical sites. One can purchase a rather large map of Prince William which has a great many historical sites including historical homes, cemeteries, etc overlaid over modern roads and towns. The Relic Room of the Bull Run Library has one hanging on the walls. I purchased two or three of them for various people, but I have forgotten where I got them. I am sure that the Relic Room could tell anyone where these maps could be purchased. My question is whether other nearby counties such as Fairfax or Fauquier publish similar maps-Dale Mueller

3. It's on Route 1 about 20 miles south of Washington DC. The address is 9301 Richmond Highway Lorton, VA 22079. If you're coming Sourth on I-95 from the Beltway, take Exit 163 for Lorton. Turn left onto Lorton Road. Turn left onto Route 1. The church is within a couple of miles or so on your right. If you're coming North on I-95 from Frededericksburg, you can take Route 1 North and go for 3-4 miles and the church is on your right. ----- Original Message ----- From: "jaharris" <jaharris@adelphia.net> To: <VAPWILLI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2000 10:16 PM Subject: Re: [VAPWILLI-L] TRURO PARISH > Can you tell me where the Pohick church is located ? > - > ---- Original Message ----- > From: <Cpzb4@aol.com> > To: <VAPWILLI-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2000 7:03 PM > Subject: Re: [VAPWILLI-L] TRURO PARISH > > > > I live about 10 minutes from Pohick Church.
