The only thing I know is that he was robbed and murdered. He is buried in Oakwood Graveyard. According to the following pension record he was a member of the James Breathed Camp, No. 881 of the United Confederate Veterans of Pulaski City. Copy in Pension Records in Botetourt County Circuit Court Membership Certificate. James Breathed Camp, No. 881 ---- United Confederate Veterans. Pulaski, City, VA This is to certify, that Comrade, Anthony R. Cary, having served during the Civil War, in Crenshaw Battery, A. P. Hill's Light Division, 2nd Army Corpse, C. S. A., is a member of the JAMES BREATHED CAMP, No. 881. Pulaski City, Va., United Confederate Veterans. Given under the hand of the Commander, attested by the Adjutant, this the 23rd day of March, 1898.
