She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Nathaniel P. and Callie T. Showalter. Surviving are a son, Randall L. Baker, Christiansburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dan Shields, Va. Beach; a brother and sister-in-law, Willie O. and Wilma Showalter, Galax; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; one nephew; and five great-nieces. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2000 at the Radford Church of Christ with Mr. Larry Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- CECIL, Jason David, (JD), 71, of 3318 Lead Mine Road, Snowville, died Monday morning, December 18, 2000, at his home. He was born November 4, 1929, in Snowville, the son of the late James R. and Bertha Thornton Cecil. He served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan and later in the U.S. Air Force in Texas. After his military service, Mr. Cecil worked for many years for Greyhound of Roanoke while living in Salem. Later he farmed in the Snowville area fulfilling his dream of living and working near his childhood home. He was an avid ourdoorsman and gardener. Mr. Cecil attended the Valley Christian Ministries of Snowville. Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Louise Dunagan Cecil of Snowville; daughter, Debra Cecil Cobb and her husband, Judge W. Allen Cobb, Jr., of Wilmington, N.C.; son, Michael David Cecil of Roanoke; daughter, Linda Cecil Ward and her husband, Dr. John T. Ward of Laurence Harbor, N.J.; three sisters and one brother, Anna Cecil Justice and her husband, Rush of Pulaski, Robert B. Cecil and his wife, Arlene of Christiansburg, Betty Cecil Blankenship of Pulaski, and Brenda Cecil Edmonds and her husband, Roy of Snowville; and he had many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at Stevens Funeral Home, 815 Randolph Avenue, Pulaski, on Wednesday, December 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Joseph McAfee and the Rev. Curtis Ratcliffe. Burial will follow at the Cecil's Chapel Cemetery, Cecil's Chapel Road, Snowville. He was formerly of Hebron, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Keefe; brother, Brian Keefe; sister, Kathleen Keefe Fritz. Gregory is survived by his mother, Joan Keefe of Sutton, Vermont; his brother, Matthew Keefe of Springfield, Massachusetts; his daughter, Jacqueline Keefe of Blacksburg; two sons, Andrew Keefe of Hawaii, Adam Keefe of Michigan; and his fiancZe, Susanna Elizabeth Winn of Blacksburg. Gregory was employed as a chef for many years and was recently employed at the Homeplace Restaurant in Catawba. He was an accomplished guitarist and leaves behind a wonderful legacy in music. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dean Waldron, and a brother, Raymond L.
