Funeral services 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Hiwassee Pentecostal Holiness Church. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- CARTER, Mamie Goodwyn, 98, of Pearisburg, died Saturday, December 16, 2000. Penn's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- CROTTY, Mary Belcher, 88, of Narrows, died Saturday, December 16, 2000 in the Beverly Health Care, Martinsville, Va. She was born in Princeton, W. Va. November 24, 1912, daughter of the late Jasper and Elizabeth Belcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Allen Crotty and a son, Larry Crotty. Mrs. Crotty was very active in the Methodist church all of her life and was a vital part of her husband's ministry in all the churches he served. She was a member and president of the AARP Chapter in Bluefield, Va. for many years. She loved life and touched the lives of many people of all ages wherever she lived. Mrs. Crotty is survived by two sons and their wives, Alvin and Rene Crotty, Narrows, Bob and Betty Crotty, Collinsville; a daughter-in-law, Becky Crotty, Collinsville; two sisters, Virginia Peters, Princeton, W. Va., Alma Wolford, Parkersburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Debbie Kaczmarek, Kernersville, N.C., Denise Read and her husband, Bob of Virginia Beach, Kim Forbes and her husband, Lee of Collinsville, Sandy Crute and her husband, George of Nelson, Va., Missy Lowery and her husband, Mike of Belmont, N.C., Anthony Crotty, Radford, Scott Crotty and his wife, Jody of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service, Narrows, Va., with the Rev. J. D. Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va.
