She is survived by five daughters, Belinda Mabry of Barren Springs, Lisa Goad of Hillsville, Cynthia Gibson of Woodlawn, Susan McFarland of Galax, Tina Lewis of Woodlawn; six brothers, Douglas L. Baker of Willis, Iris Spangler of Hillsville, Faye Dalton of Hillsville, Gloria Branscome of Pinnacle, N.C.; eight grandchildren. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2001 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, with Rev. Bryan Childress officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Buffalo Mountain Cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- HASTINGS, Laura Anne, 36, of Blacksburg, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at her residence. She was the beloved daughter of Gladeen Aleta Hastings, and sister of Charles W. Hastings, Jr. She is also survived by numerous loving friends and colleagues in the region. An informal service will be held at the Duck Pond Pavilion on the campus of V.P.I. & S.U. at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2001. A private interment will follow the service. He was born in Newport, Va. on June 26, 1939 to the late Ralph and Mae S. Long. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Tana Long of Pearisburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice Long Lytton and special friend, Harvey Jahn of Prices Fork, Joyce Long Huffman and Chapman L. Huffman, Sr. of Daleville, Joann Long Hammons and James L. Hammons of Newport; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Norma Long of Rupert W.Va.; a special nephew and wife, Chapman L. Huffman, Jr. and Malia of Roanoke; caregivers, Nellie and Bonnie; and best friend and companion, Blackfoot. Committal services will be conducted in the chapel at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at 12 noon with the Rev Jim Belcher officiating . He was born in Danville, Va. on September 28, 1942, to the late Arthur Jones and Vecie DeHart Louhoff. He is survived by his wife, Betty Anderson Louhoff; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheri Louhoff and Christopher Gray; son, William Edwin Louhoff, Jr. (Bill), three granddaughters, Julia, Alexandra, and Olivia, all of Blacksburg; two brothers, Arthur J. Louhoff, Jr. of Danville, and Richard A. Louhoff, of Dry Fork, Va. Memorial service will be conducted Sunday, February 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the New Life Christian Center at Life Bible College, Christiansburg with the Rev. Nich Gough officiating. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Nora Viars. Survivors include her husband, Harmon (PeeWee) Mills of Radford, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, Sixth St. in Radford. Graveside services to follow at 3 p.m. at Sunrise Burial Park in Radford with Pastor Tom Warren officiating. Arrangements by Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- OGLE, Elmer I., (Jim), 82, of 5781 Tabernacle Place, Pulaski, Va., died Wednesday night, February 21, 2001, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Wythe County on January 17, 1919, and was the son of the late Lee and Maude Spencer Ogle. He was retired from RAAP, Radford, with 30 years of service. He was a veteran having served in WWII in the United States Army in the European Theatre of Operation. Surviving are his wife, May S. Ogle of Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Lee and Brenda Ogle of Max Meadows; sisters, Sylvia Thompson of Dublin, Vera Gravely of Draper, Opal Sowers of Fries; grandsons, Michael Ogle, Eric Ogle and Curtis Ogle, all of Max Meadows; special friends, David and Sara Wright of Pulaski; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Carl B. Wood; six sons and daughters-in-law, Connie and Sylvia Wood, Rev. Leon and Elaine Wood, Richard and Brenda Wood, all of Floyd, Claborne and Wanda Wood of Tobaccoville, N.C., Frank and Sharon Wood of Copper Hill, Gary Robert and Brenda Wood of Bassett; two daughters, Frances and James Lawson of Fairmont N.C., Ruby Moran of Floyd; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Claborne and Mary Alice Ingram Hubbard; five brothers, and seven sisters; one son, Joseph Wood; and one daughter, Marie Wood. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25 at Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Mathew Brown and Rev. Leon Wood officiating. Interment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.
