Sr., 71, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, February 3, 2001. He was a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant and was currently employed by the Montgomery County Public Facilities. An active member of the Isaac Walton League and a lifetime member of the Montgomery County Moose Lodge # 1470. he is survived by his wife, Rheba D. Sowers; daughter and sons-in-law, Doris, Wright, Darlene and Billy Taylor both of Christiansburg, Nancy and Doug Robertson, Arizona; sons and daughters-in-law, Houston R., Jr. and Shana Sowers, Christiansburg, Steve and Wanda Sowers, Newport News; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Paul Curtis, Dolly and Edward Epperly, Christine and George Olsen all of Christiansburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Diane Sumner, California; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six nephews; and two nieces. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2001, at the graveside in Sunset Cemetery. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at the First Church of the Nazarene conducted by Dr. Mervin Smith with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Blacksburg. Edna is survived by three sisters, Kathleen Musselman, Salem, Mary Ethel and Edith Wheeling, both of Christiansburg; a nephew, William Musselman and wife, Norma; a niece, Carol Ann Young and husband, Jerry, Tulas, Okla.; also two great-nephews and one great-niece; a stepsister, Avalea Duncan, Salem. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2001, at the Horne Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver, Jr. with burial to follow in the Wheeling Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- CRAFT, Donald David, passed away February 4, 2001 at the Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a retired assistant professor from Wytheville Community College. He was the son of the late Rev. David and Hazel Craft of Union. His wife Betty Vance Craft of Wytheville; and a son, Kevin Don Craft, Roanoke survive him. He is survived by a brother and his wife, Robert and Charlotte Craft, Pickaway, W.Va.; three sisters, Mary Mullins, Charleston, W.Va., Betty Townsend, Ocean City, Md., and June Blankenship of Maryland. He has many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Union High School, Concord College and Radford University. He also attended Virginia Tech and New York University. He did additional studies at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Lund in Sweden. He attended the Wytheville Presbyterian Church and was a talented musician. Arrangements are with Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville. Visitation will be Monday February 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 6 at the Wytheville Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the New Lebanon Cemetery, Pickaway, W.Va., at 2:30 p.m. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- HENDERSON, James Edward, 78, of Richmond, formerly of Blacksburg, died Saturday, February 3, 2001, at Health South Med Center, Richmond. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on October 12, 1922 to the late William Frank and Ida Bell Turman Henderson and is also preceded in death by a brother, William Francis "Nash" Henderson. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in North Africa. He was a member of the Robert E. Lee V.F.W. Post #2239 in Colonial Heights. He is survived by two sisters, Crystal Washington of Richmond and Martha Henderson of Dugspur; four brothers, Trent Henderson of Colonial Heights, Minor Frank Henderson of Richmond, Hugh T. Henderson of Rustburg, and Gerald D. Henderson of Blacksburg. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, February 6, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the Turman Family Cemetery, Dugspur, with Mr. Bobby E. CLARK, William Kenneth, 72, of Bedford, died Saturday, February 3, 2001 Carilion Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born June 1, 1928, a son of the late Oscar Clifford Clark and Mabel Pitts Clark. He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Mr. Clark spent 53 years in the furniture business, having worked at Broyhill Furniture, Pulaski Furniture, Vaughan-Bassett Furniture, and Pilliod Furniture. He retired in March of 2000 from Stanley Furniture Company. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances H. Clark; one son, Randy Scott Clark of Summerville, S.C.; one daughter, Robin C. Wood of Bedford; three sisters, Marjorie C. Stanley of Stanleytown, Va., Joretta C. Griffith of Birmingham, Ala., Kathryn C. Kelly of Pulaski; one brother, Norvell O. Clark of Fieldale; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held from the graveside in Bedford. There will be no visitation at the funeral home or the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Carilion Bedford Hospice Services, 815 Summitt St., Bedford, Va. 24523, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
