I am curious if anyone else has noticed that the persons in the two Hurst cemeteries on the cemetery page for Pulaski have alot of the same people buried in the two cemeteries, one in Hiwassee and one in Dublin. The listings are not identical but are around 75-80% the same. Then that leads me to ask, which is "right" and that is gonna be a job to figure out. I know the two Nunn cemeteries are not the same. Have different people in them, but one is in Hiwassee and one is in Delton, not far from one another as the bird flies, but a bit of a distance if you are driving a car. Thanks in advance for any help. I was looking up Virginia May Nunn Hurst and found her in two places.
Hi Bonnie and all, Oh, yes, I have noticed that, but forgot to mention it. The one from "Hiwassee" is actually in Newbern, same as the one labelled Dublin. I've been there. Most of the people there were descendants of Samuel Hurst and Virginia Breeding who were born in VA, probably in Hiwassee, moved to Claiborne County, TN, then came back after the Civil War, but settled in Newbern. That's the group which has had lots of reunions every few years. There are several Hurst cemeteries in Hiwassee which have not be transcribed online.
