Va Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/PulaskiObits/10172 Surname: SUMMERS, BAGAS, CLOPPER, GEMMELL, ROOP ------------------------- Transcribed by Tami Ramsey SW Times January 15, 1962 Mrs. Joanna Craft SUMMERS, 100, known to her many friends as “Granny Summers” died early this morning at the home of her step-son, Sheriff Roy SUMMERS, 8th St., with whom she has made her home for the past 45 years. She was born July 31, 1862, daughter of the late Joseph and Melvina BAGAS near Fincastle, Botetourt County. She was the widow of Leroy Lee SUMMERS and a member of the First Methodist Church. Survivors include besides Sheriff SUMMERS, one Grand-daughter Mrs. Elizabeth CLOPPER, Serverna Park, Md., and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Stricklers Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Frank Trotter. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James GEMMELL, Robert GEMMELL, Ralph GEMMELL, Matthew GEMMELL and W.L. ROOP. The body will remain at Stricklers until the hour of service.
