    3. New River Obituaries ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- BRADBERRY, Sarah Spangler, 79, passed away, Saturday, May 5, 2001 at her home in Radford. She was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church and retired from Hercules. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Clyde Bradberry. Survivors include a son and his fianceZ, Wayne Bradberry and Valarie Rickey of Radford; a daughter, Donna Sue Bradberry of Radford; a granddaughter, Kendra Elizabeth Bradberry; and a brother, Earl Edward Spangler of Dunbar, W.Va. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Danny Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- BROWN, Elizabeth Cardwell, 81, of Blacksburg, a retired teacher, died in Blacksburg on Friday, May 4, 2001 after a long illness. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her memory to the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 144, Blacksburg, Va. 24063. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements by Mullins Funeral Home and Crematory, Bedford. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- CRAWFORD, Stanley Richard, (Gull), 73, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, May 6, 2001. Mr. Crawford retired from Hercules after 39 years of service. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Wayne Crawford. Mr. Crawford was a devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lois J. Crawford; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Ann Crawford; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Ken Shepherd, Dee Dee and Wayland Overstreet. Mr. Crawford is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2001, at Horne Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bayne officiating.
