Born August 4, 1922 in Craig County, Va., she was a daughter of the late David Kent and Cora Duncan Harless. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, Rich Creek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Harvey in 1997, one sister, Neva Caldwell and one brother, Dan Harless. Survivors include a son, John David Harvey and wife, Donna of Christiansburg, Va.; two grandsons, John Travis and Matthew Eric Harvey; sister-in-law, Pauline Harless of Blacksburg, Va.; and a brother-in-law, Robert Harvey of Mankato, Kansas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001 at the First Baptist Church, Rich Creek, Va. with Rev. Jim Pickett and Rev. Mike Vest officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rich Creek. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, W.Va. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- RAMSEY, Rebecca Ellen, 45, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, April 23, 2001 at her home. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Gallimore. Surviving are her children, Connie Ramsey of Tennessee, Ben Gallimore, Liza Sebranek, Karrie Gallimore, all of Christiansburg, Amanda Gallimore of Florida; her former husband, Walter Gallimore, Radford; her grandchildren, Cassidy Faith Gallimore, Dakota Lee Gallimore, Philip Austin Gallimore, Dustin Allen Gallimore and Brianna "Bubbles" Bland; her mother, Julia Clark Ramsey; brothers, Berley Clark, Denny Ramsey, both of Glasgow, Clarence Ramsey, Wayne Ramsey, both of Pulaski, Warren Jay "Skip" Ramsey, Dublin; sisters, Hazel Patterson, Richmond, Priscilla Riddle, Lisa Cash, Brenda Ramsey Thompson, all of Dublin, Rhonda Ramsey, Buena Vista, and Roberta Lynn Pritchard of Florida. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, at the Horne Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Rice, with interment to follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. It is requested that those wishing to make memorials, send them to the family to help offset medical expenses. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. The family would like to express their appreciation to New River Valley Hospice, nurses, Debbie and Claudia for special care given and to special family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- STUMP, Bertha Louise Ritter, 65, of Radford, passed away Monday, April 23, 2001 at New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haven Gilford, Sr. and Mary Ratcliffe Ritter, and her husband, Everett Bruce Stump, Jr. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Radford. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and David McDaniel, Lisa and Darryl Altizer, Sarah and Brown Akers, Sally and Gary Davis, all of Radford; five grandchildren, Travis and Candice Akers, Amanda and Carlton Altizer, and Kelly Davis; one brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Betty Ritter; three sisters, Margaret Ritter, Eula Miller, Elizabeth Bowden, all of Radford. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Radford with the Rev. Gina Rhea officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the First Christian Church, in memory of Bertha Stump; 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, Va. 24141.
