Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- FIZER, Leon, 54, of Radford, died Saturday, March 31, 2001. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- KING, Minnie Lee LaPrade, 91, of 624 E . 5th Street, Pulaski, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2001 at her daughters home in Glade Spring. She was born on December 31, 1909 in Franklin County and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Peter and Lockey Ann Hodges LaPrade. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McKinley King; six brothers; two sisters; four sons, Robert Wesley, James McKinley, Buford Monroe and Charles Jackson King; two daughters, Mildred Mozelle King, Estelle Lena King Slaughter; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Left to cherish her memory are, Four sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Shirley King, Alexandria, Joseph and Phillis King, Pulaski, Doug and Diana King, Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth and Shirley King, Dublin; three daughters, and sons-in-law, Effie David, Bristol, Pa., Joyce and Louis O'baugh, Alexandria, Linda and Junior Rouse, Glade Spring; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Charles "Janelle" King, Winston-Salem, N.C.; 29 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy Ramsey and Rev. Roger Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Tuesday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. or from the residence at any other time. In lieu of flowers, the family wished that donations be made to Stevens Funeral Home, P.O. Box 32, Pulaski, Va. 24301 for Mrs. King's funeral expenses. Arrangements by Penn's Funeral Home. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- McGUIRE, Daisy Mae, 94, of the Lillydale Community, Dublin, died Saturday, March 31, 2001. Graveside service 11 a.m. Tuesday at the New Dublin Presbyterian Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements by A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- POFF, Mildred H., 86, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2001. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2001 in the Horne Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard H. Horne, with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Gideon Memorial Bibles, P. O. Box 366, Christiansburg, Va. 24068. Arrangements by Horne Funeral Service. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- RASNAKE, Jessie Eugene, of Christiansburg, was born on September 25, 1942 and died on April 1, 2001 at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his father, James Oakley Rasnake. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Goldie Juanita (Gilbert) Rasnake; three sons and their spouses, Kenneth R. and Teresa Fisher Rasnake of Newport, Ricky Rasnake and his fiancZ, Connie Lawrence of Radford, Michael E. and Janie Shelor Rasnake of Christiansburg; three dear grandchildren, Jason Rasnake, Amanda Rasnake, and Angel Shelor; twelve nephews with one preceding him in death; sixteen nieces; and many true friends. He is also survived by his mother, Lola M. Lambert of Bel Air, Md.; brothers, Richard F. Smith of Aberdeen, Md., C. Wayne Lambert of Bel Air, Md., Gary G. Lambert of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Loretta Martin of Edgewood, Md., Sandra K. Harris of Joppa, Md., and Donna M. Bethke, Mt. Airy, Md. Jessie was retired after 20 years of service from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer - E-7, travelling to many parts of the world. After his retirement, he then worked for the Radford Arsenal for eight years, Montgomery County Jail for 6 years and the Shawsville High School for 6 years. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Monday, April 2, at the Horne Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, in the Horne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Cooper, Rev. Jim Duty and Rev. Mark Justice officiating. Graveside services will follow in Sunset Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 1184, Pulaski. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to help with medical expenses. Arrangements are being handled by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg.
