She was a longtime member of Floyd Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Martha Duncan. Mrs. DeHart was preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar DeHart, and her sister, Virgie Izola Cooper. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Eula Ellen and James Midkiff of Floyd, Connie and Reif Bond of Indian Valley; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Shirley Duncan of Floyd; seven grandchildren, Randal and Diane Midkiff, Ronnie and Joyce Midkiff, Larry and Jennifer Midkiff, Stacy and Bryant Thompson, all of Floyd, Chris Bond, Lisa Bond, Sheena Bond, all of Indian Valley; two great-grandsons, Jeremy Midkiff and Bradley Midkiff; a very special friend, Margaret Conner. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Brown and Dr. Alton Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- GILLESPIE, Oren Virgil, 61, of 1262 Cascade Drive in Pembroke, died Thursday morning, April 19, 2001 in Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Blacksburg. Born in Giles County on July 11, 1939, he was a son of the late Thomas and Nellie Jane Lucas Gillespie, He is survived by a brother, Jimmy Gillespie of the home; and three sisters, Virginia L. Kanode of Narrows, Hazel Creasy of Christiansburg, and Avis Detamore of Pembroke; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with the Rev. Dennis Moore and the Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Fillinger Cemetery at Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- HOLLAR, Todd William, 35, of Pearisburg, died Friday, April 20, 2001 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hollar was born in Washington, D.C. on June 10, 1965 and was a son of William S. Hollar and Peggy Davis Hollar. Todd was a graduate of Giles High School, Class of 1983, and attended New River Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 14 years of service and served at Langley Air Force Base, Hickam Field in Hawaii, Andrews Air Force Base, and in South Korea. Todd was preceded in death by a brother, Toby Hollar; paternal grandparents, Claude M. Hollar, Sr. and Margaret P. Hollar; and maternal grandparents, Edward T. Davis and Clara F. Davis. Besides his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Hollar of Radford; and one brother, Tim Hollar of White River, S.D. Kammerer, died Monday, April 16, 2001, in Roanoke. Eleanor was born January 26, 1919, in Chicago, Ill. She and Vern moved to Blacksburg in October 2000 after living for 30 years in the mountains they loved in Nantahala, N.C. They also lived for 17 years in Windermere, Fla. Eleanor was pre-deceased by her son, Hal, in 1970. She is survived by her husband, Vern, of 1060 Showalter Dr., Blacksburg, Va. 24060; by her sister, Isabelle Burleigh of Santa Barbara, Calif.; by her children, Susan Morikawa and husband, Andy of Blacksburg, Leigh Kammerer and wife, Charlene of Charlotte, N.C., Janet Cross and husband, Gary of Nantahala. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katy, Stefan, his wife, Leah, Molly Morikawa, Chris Kammerer, his wife, Sarah, Maggie and Lindsay Cross; and by her great-grandchild, Alden Eleanor Morikawa. Eleanor was a remarkable woman, an ever-loving mother and grandmother. She was a very patient wife to stay married to the "Old Goat" for 59 years and she is deeply missed by her family and friends. Shockley; grandsons, George Douglas Spangler and special friend, Tammy Mason and his daughters, Heather Nicole and Lizena Ellen Spangler, Brian Keith and Melissa Spangler; step grandsons, Jody L. and Kevin V. Shockley; sister and brother-in-law, Reva W. and Harry C. Weeks; sister-in-law, Eris Q. Wade; aunt, Ivra Layman Thompson and her husband, Clevie; aunt by marriage, Edith H. Layman; nieces and nephews, Phyllis K. and Emil Viola, Richard E.
