Haven't sent it back yet. For your fee of FREE, they don't tell you your results. For that you have to take a DNA test with a commercial company, then plug your numbers into the SMGF database to see if you have any matches. Men should join an existing surname project if possible. You can find out if there is such a project - and a lot more - at worldfamilies.net . There is another new DNA research project sponsored by the National Geographic Society. See https://www5.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/ This one is NOT free, but you do get your results on a personal webpage. The head of this project is Spencer Wells, who wrote the book (and the TV show) "Journey of Man." In this project, men would normally get their Y-chromosome DNA results and women would get their mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) results. The former tracks your direct paternal line and the latter tracks your direct maternal line. There are ways for men to also get their mtDNA results and for anybody to upgrade their results. To be very specific to Pulaski County, we have already proven the DNA of ancestors here, men and women, from about 200 years ago. Welcome to genealogy in the 21st century. Feel free to e-mail me off-list if you have any questions on this subject. Bill Hurst
