New River Obituaries ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- HOUSE, Paul Compton, 72, of Pearisburg, died Monday, June 18, 2001, in Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete at the Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- PRESCOTT, Virginia Cooper, 80, of Christiansburg, died Monday, June 18, 2001 at her home. She was born in Newport, Va. on February 2, 1921 to the late Isreal C. and Celia Lang Cooper. She was a member of the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her husband, George E. Prescott of Christiansburg; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gene Loye of Greensboro, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth L. and Betty Quesenberry of Blacksburg; a sister, Dorrence Quesenberry of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Larry Wayne and wife, Julie Quesenberry of Christiansburg, Kenneth E. Quesenberry of Blacksburg, Betty and husband, Robert Metzler of Blacksburg; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday June 20, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd, the Rev. Jube Burke, and the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825 Electric Road, S.W., Suite A, Roanoke, Va. 24018.
