Survivors include her husband, Talford Akers, Willis; sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Cledith Akers, Shawsville, Dean and Verna Akers, Willis; brother, J. C. Akers, Newport News; sisters, Zora Dulaney, Riner, Velta Maxey, Roanoke; grandchildren and spouses, Joyce and Norman Fitzwater, Reggie and Heather Akers, Mark and Tammy Akers, Matthew Akers; great-grandchildren, Nicole Fitzwater, Sarah Fitzwater and Jacob Akers. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2001 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harvey Carico, the Rev. Eli Yoder and the Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment will be in White Rock Cemetery. She was born April 6, 1913 in Grayson County, Va. the daughter of the late Roy and Belle Brewer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Jones; a son-in-law, Sherley O. Manning; brothers, James, Fenley, Willie and John Brewer. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William Rex and Kaye Jones, Daniel Ralph and Claudine Jones, Roger Dale and Barbara Jones, all of Dublin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary L. and Douglas Collins, Pulaski, Virginia A. Manning, Dublin, Nancy and Larry Quesenberry of Floyd; one sister, Bessie Pyle of Arlington, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at French's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Akers and the Rev. John Hash officiating. Burial in the Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, Draper. Visitation will be Thursday after 1 p.m. at A.
