The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Park United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Raymond Kelley and the Rev. Mike Vest officiating. Christiansburg Police Department will be providing their Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with full graveside Military Honors conducted by the VFW Post #1184, Pulaski, Va. Horne Funeral Service in Christiansburg is handling arrangements. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- MARTIN, Karen Gress, 48, of 1304 Willow Avenue, Pulaski, died Monday June 4, 2001 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born October 10, 1952 in Pulaski she is survived by her parents, Paul T. and Dorothy Butt Gress of Pulaski; one brother and his wife, Eric Timothy Gress and Tamara Wallace Gress; and a nephew, Eric Paul Gress all of Dublin. Karen was a 1971 Graduate of Pulaski High School, a graduate of Virginia Western Community College and had attended New River Community College. She was a member and very lovingly involved in the First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, and had been a volunteer with the Salvation Army, Critzer School and several child-care and pre-school organizations. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. J.N. Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Thomas M. Pulaski, Va. 24301. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- MOORE, Jack Dee, 53, of Radford, passed away in May 2001. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a son of the late Lance C. Moore and Ethel Giles Moore. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Judy Moore and Bob Ruth of Radford; nephew, Jeff Miles; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 7, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Radford Worship Center, Second and Ingles St., Radford, with Pastor Hal Adams officiating. The family will greet friends after the service at the church. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- MOREHEAD, Lloyd Thomas, 79, of McCoy, died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on October 31, 1921 to the late Bose Lloyd and Ella Mae Davis Morehead. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Julia Pauline "Polly" Morehead. Lloyd was a decorated veteran of WWII, receiving the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Lloyd was retired from Hercules, Inc. with many years of service and had been very active in the McCoy Community with Boy Scouts, Ball Park and Community Christian Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, L. Terry and Wanda B. Morehead; a grandson, L. Keith Morehead, all of McCoy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Almeta A. McCoy of McCoy, Ray T. "Tommy" and Harriett McCoy of McCoy, Lois Morehead of Blacksburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Community Christian Church with Mr. James O. Flaugher officiating. Interment will follow in the Centennial Christian Church Cemetery, McCoy.
