RHOADES, widow of the late Rev. J. W. RHOADES, a member of the Holston Conference of the Methodist church, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. F. PRATER, in Marion on Monday. Death followed a lingering illness. The deceased has been in declining health for several months and during the past few weeks her condition had been critical. Although her death was not unexpected, her demise came as a shock to her many friends. She was born in Pulaski county March 10, 1850. She was before her marriage Miss Lucinda MARTIN. She was married to J. RHOADES also of Pulaski on December 7, 1870. To this union were born six children, two boys and four girls. One son and one daughter preceded her to ________ Surviving are one son and three daughters as follows: W. M. RHOADES, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. E. M. PIPPIN, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Mrs. J. C. DISHMAN, Bristol, and Mrs. R. F. PRATER, Marion also two sisters, Mrs. A. J. CARTER, and Mrs. Mary ROTENBERRY, of Radford. She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will held Tuesday afternoon from the PRATER home and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Johnson, of the Marion Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. G. L. Shupe, of Telford, Tenn. Burial was in the family plot.
