Arrangements are being handled by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- GOAD, Austin Farley, 86, of Floyd, passed away Friday, March 23, 2001. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Goad. He was a member of Word of Truth Baptist Church. He is survived by a wife of 66 years, Ida J. Goad, Floyd; one daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Andrew Nester, Floyd; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Mildred Goad, Floyd, Roger and Erma Goad, Floyd; two sisters, Clara Clements, Mt. Airy, N.C., Agnes Blizzard, Mt. Airy, N.C.; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Judy and Donald Cain, Winchester, Dale and Sharon Goad, Winchester, Allen and Tammy Nester, Stuart, Diane and Lloyd Minter, Floyd, Denise Goad, Delores Goad, Darrell Goad and Darren Goad, all of Floyd; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home with Re. Murray Agee officiating . Interment will follow in Buffalo Mountain Cemetery. The daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Hale Willis, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sisson; a son, Donald L. Sisson; and two brothers, Hobert and Hubert Willis. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James O. and Julie Sisson, Shawsville; her former daughter-in-law, Sue Sisson Foster and husband, John, Radford; grandchildren, Cathy Sisson Fisher and husband, Michael, Daryl W. Sisson, Scott S. Sisson, Melissa Sisson Shepherd, and Rebekah Sisson. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Crockett Springs United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Piedmont Cemetery.
