Looking for information on Gibbs. William B. Gibbs, known as Burwell Gibbs moved to Pulaski from Bedford, Virginia sometime between 1850 and 1860. His wife was Martha Ann (Wiggenton) They married January 4, 1847 in Bedford, Virginia. They were on the Bedford County census for 1850 and showed two children, William A. and Sarah E. Then in 1860, they were on the census for Pulaski County with two children, William age 14 and Sarah age 12. Both William and Sarah married in Pulaski County. William A. marring a Sarah V. Parker on August 9, 1866. and Sarah marring Waythe G. Melvin November 7, 1883. Sarah V.(Parker) Gibbs died in Pulaski March 3, 1912. William died in Charlotte, N.C. Children of William (Burwell) and Sarah V. Gibbs are: 1. Simeon Johnson Gibbs b. Oct 9, 1868 Pulaski, d. June 29, 1940 buried in Dora Cem, Pulaski. Married Ida Lucado and Mildred Ann Smith of Giles County. 2. Edward F Gibbs b. July 1871 3. William B Gibbs b. 1875 Pulaski and d. August 2, 1940. William married twice, (1) Ella RadenMeridith and (2) Ola Russell. 4. James H Gibbs b. 1876 Pulaski m. March 17, 1901 Pulaski to Mollie Draper. 5. Mary Lou Gibbs b. August 1879 d. Dec. 20 1880 Pulaski. 6. Mythe Gibbs b. 1882 Pulaski m. Feb. 27, 1902 to Edmond A Cord.,Pulaski 7. Jennie Gibbs b. 1887 m. George Draper. 8. Lena Beulah Gibbs b. Jan 15, 1893 Pulaski m. March 25, 1912 Bristol, Va. to George Rowe Pagans. 9. Alice E. Gibbs b, July 2, 1895 Pulaski d. March 5, 1922 Pulaski m. July 1, 1915 Pulask to Arthur Jones.
