She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, C.D. Duncan and her parents, Louise and Gent McReynolds and Charles Plaster. Surviving family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Randy Holland of Warner Robins, Ga., Connie and Clark Reece of Hillsville; three grandchildren, John Holland, Duncan and Samatha Reece. Friends may call at John M. Oakey & Son in Salem from 7 to 9 p.m . Sunday, January 14, 2001. Memorial services will be held Monday, January 15, 2001 at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- EANES, Mary Edith Lutz, 79, of Pilot, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2001, at her home. She was born in Bellair, Md., on May 30, 1921, to the late Charles and Luda Hall Lutz. She worked at Imperial Reading for over 40 years retiring as a supervisor. She was a member of the Bible Truth Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Alva "Shorty" Eanes. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and the Rev. Charles Spencer; son and daughter-in-law, Ronney A. and Brenda Eanes, all of Pilot; four grandchildren and their spouses, Ronald Dean and Connie Spencer, Mark David and Khristy Spencer, Ricky and Whitney Eanes, Melissa and Byron Dickerson; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Whitney, Michael and Gabriel Spencer; and a special cousin, Elva Poff. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Bible Truth Tabernacle, 1228 Flick Drive, Shawsville with the Rev. Charles Spencer, the Rev. Ronald Dean Spencer, and the Rev. Homer Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. Arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- SISSON, Dr. Francis Watson, 89, of Richmond, died Saturday, January 6, 2001. He began his career in education as a high school history teacher in Shawsville upon graduation at the University of Virginia in 1932. He then went on to serve as principal at Eagle Rock High School, Radford High School and Martinsville High School. He joined the staff at the College of William and Mary in the capacity of high school counselor for the state of Virginia. After receiving his doctorate degree from Columbia University in New York City, he was named assistant supervisor of secondary education for the State Board of Education in Richmond in 1950. In 1953, he was appointed director of personnel for the Richmond Public Schools. He retired as Assistant Superintendent in 1975. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond and a lifetime member of Meadowbrook Country Club. He was a faithful member of Ginter Park United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and a teacher of the Friendly Bible Class. He also was a member of the University of Virginia Alumni Association. He has touched many lives and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kathleen Charlton; two daughters, Rebecca Brundrett and her husband, Don of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Nancy Langford and her husband, Brent of Richmond; two grandchildren, Tracy Langford of Virginia Beach, and Scott Langford of Framingham, Mass.; and a sister, Kitty McCoy of Radford. A funeral service was held Tuesday, January 9, at 11 a.m. at Ginter Park United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond. She is survived by two sons, Douglass Harold Rowell of Gurley, Ala., Donald C. Rowell of Huntsville, Ala.; and two grandsons. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2001, at the graveside in Sunset Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Doug Kanney.
