Jennie/Jeannie Edwards who married a James Tipton. Edwards may have been her married name from a previous marriage but not sure. My Great Grandfathers name is Charles Elbert Tipton. He had 2 sisters Mary and Martha and 2 brothers George and Edward. I don't know if they had the same last name or not. In my Grandparents bible it states : "Jennie Edwards.. Charles Elberts mother married James Tipton 1897." Beside that it says Jennies other children ...but the name are unreadable. Now, Charles Elbert Tipton was born July 21, 1891 d 1/25/1962 according to his headstone in the cemetery where he is buried. Charles Elbert Tipton was supposedly born in Virginia but not verified. I have asked all surviving children, grandchildren etc that Charles Elbert had and NO ONE ever remembers meeting or knowing anything about Charles Elbert Tiptons parents!!!! Charles Elbert Tipton married Goldie Francis Sturgill. Goldie was b 12/18/1897 d 04/08/1954. They had 10 children... Clifford (Homer), (my grandfather--he was born in Parrot, Virginia. Garnet, Carl, Lula, Marvin, Charles, Betty, James, Lois, Shirley.. they were all born in West Virginia.
