He worked as an Agricultural Extension Agent in Suffolk, then became a principal in York Oil Company in Hampton. Throughout his long years, Hugh was a leader in every community in which he lived. Among his business and community service credentials, he was President of York Oil Company, and served on the Board of Directors of Rappahannock General Hospital, Old Point National Bank, and the old Hampton General Hospital. He was President of the Virginia Petroleum Jobbers Association and also served on committees of the National Oil Jobbers Council. He was a 45-year member and past Director of the Jesters Norfolk Court 75. He had friends all over the world, maintaining close relationships with families in England and Belgium he met during the war. High never met a stranger. I have been in contact with the person/company who WILL be doing one. <"The project will officially open in 2001. We will have a deadline for stories (500) words free an 1 photo free." "We will print a brochure with the guidelines after we organize a committee." "We would love to have the Genealogy Club involved. We work either from a committee including members of churches, organizations, and interested people. We also work with groups. There is a profit to be made by the sponsoring group. In fact many beginning organizations have helped their new clubs along financially by helping us with the project. I would like to talk to Tami before I begin."> Some of you may receive this twice since you are a member of both the email group concerning certain surnames: Nunn, Breeding, Hurst and the VaPulask-L list at rootsweb. My effort is to get this out to as many people as possible as quickly as possible. So I guess I better start something on my ancestors, so I can mesh it with others with the same surnames. AS you may wish to do. In a separate email, Shirley Grose, told me that work on a heritage book has already been started for Wythe Co. I did not know this even though I am a member of that email list. Thanks for the inquiries I have received about this book, and for your patience in my getting back with you about it. Bonnie Wms.
