Elijah Morgan was listed in the roll of the Central Guard from Prospect. This company was one of the first to leave Prince Edward for Confederate service. This is all I can find with the records at my immediate disposal. It is likely that William and Hester's Marriage Bond is available at Prince Edward court house. Also the marriage records of some of the children may be available. I am an independent researcher, and I am available to search and make copies of these and any other records that may be availible. He was married to Hester Good, b. abt 1810, also from Prince Edward Co. They are in the 1850 and 1860 census for Prince Edward. Their children were: Elijah H Morgan, Paul and Silas (twins), Elizabeth F, Sarah A, Mary M. and Joseph R. Sarah A, b. 1842, married my gr grandfather, Joseph Floyd Tankersley in Kanawha Co., WV. on December 26, 1865. I am especially interested in info on them, but also on the rest of the family. August 10, 1791 in Prince Edward County, Virginia Benjamin Hawkins married Nancy Perkinson daughter of John Perkinson. When John Perkinson wrote his will January 1, 1821, his daughter Nancy Hawkins was deceased. August 6, 1830 pursuant to a decree of the Court of Prince Edward County made at April term in the case of Agnew and wife against Perkinson heirs, the Commissioners, Thomas Scott, John Clark, and John Foster, examined the accounts of John Perkinson’s estate and found them to be correct and supported by proper vouchers and that there was a balance of two hundred and thirty-five dollars and sixty-two cents in the hands of the executor due the estate. The Commissioners named those who were to receive these funds in addition to earlier distributions. According to the account, those receiving additional legacies were Edmund Perkinson, Eliza Bowlling, Sarah Morris, Samuel D. Burke, Richard Burke, the four children of Patsy Miller to wit: Elizabeth, Martha, Jane, and Mary and the five children of Nancy Hawkins to wit: Harriet, Polly, Elizabeth, Nancy and John P. Hawkins. At last, four years after the death of Sarah Perkinson, John Perkinson’s estate was settled. I hope this information is helpful.
