    1. [VAPRINCE] Response to Carolynn re. DAVID HARRIS
    2. Roberta Schultze
    3. Carolynn, According to the book, ADVENTURERS OF PURSE AND PERSON 4th ed. 2005, Vol II p.277,  David Harris, ". . . married Jane (Landy) Richardson." Here's what it says about David Harris:  [I've left off the superscript numbers as I can't duplicate them] 41.  DAVID HARRIS (William, William, Thomas)patented 203 acres in Brunswick county, 30 Aug 1743 but mortgaged this tract 27 Nov 1745 to secure Benjamin Henson's costs in appealing his suit against Richard Richason about a Negro slave at the General Court, and sold that land to William Randolph in 1746.  He patented 387 acres in Amelia County, 16 sept 1743, but as of St.Martin's Parish, hanover County, sold that land 226 Nov 17145.  He owned 138 acres in St. Martin's Parish in 1763.  He married Jane (Landy) richardson. ISSUE:  118. GILES; 119 LEWIS; 120: DAUGHTERS. Does this help you any?  The book is fully documented with tons of footnotes, but be sure to look at the 2005 edition as earlier ones didn't have my line (Obadiah/Obediah Harris, Sr.) listed at all. Hope you're staying dry in Ripon; that's where my former mother-in-law was born, so I know exactly where you are.  It's pretty soggy here and I imagine it's a very, very bad year for tule fog where you are in the Valley.  Yesterday we had several hours of beautiful sunshine, a welcome relief from the deluge. 3. Really pleased with the Heritage Book also. Just wish I had put more families in it! Famous last words, " I thought someone else would." Working on Nash, Dickerson, Ferguson and Gregory, as well as Wright. Thanks so much for the great job you all did. I have the information for the JOHN A JOHNSON 1906 - 1993, However, there is another JOHN JOHNSON but the reading is inciperable on the FindAGrave site. I believe it may be the JOHN JOHNSON I am looking for that was born in 1843 in England and appears in the 1880 census of Buckingham Co VA and later moved into Prince Edward County by the 1900 census. He was married to a EMELY _______ also born in England. Perhaps someone has the correct reading for this tombstone. Also looking for the son FRED J JOHNSON born in 1873. I'm living in Lexington, VA about an hour from where our Prince Edward Wood/Davis folks settled in Botetourt County on the James River about 1802. The original property still belongs to a line of the family. My email address is [email protected] While in Charlotte/Pr. Edward they lived at the headwaters of Dunnavant Creek near Joe Morton. It turns out that my birth last name (I was adopted at birth) is Kyle with Watkins in the line with some Maryland roots. A coincidence I'm intrigued by. 3. Besides the Guerrants (huguenots from Powhatan) who married into Tuckers, I find it very interresting that that you have Wood (Wood Tucker who died in Pr Ed in 1836) and Davis who married into the Tuckers (my line) in Dinwiddie and Amelia Co plus Watkins,Venable and Moores who married into my McGehee's of same areas and Pr Ed. My lines dance all around yours. How far back are you with your research.Mine are back to 1607 on the Tuckers and 1653 on the Mcgehee's both in early VA.I have Ancestry and would love to see your data on these lines. Maybe I can help.
