I am descended from this marriage by their daughter, Harriet Mickle, who married Stephen C. Fore. Cordilia Mickle Adams was her sister. Jane Elam Mickle died and James married America Seay who is mentioned in his will. My notes say that Cordilia is the daughter of Jane Elam, but other notes say that her middle name was Seay, so I am not sure about that. The Elam family has had quite a bit of research done on that name. Hope this helps. James was born about 1766 in Scotland and left a will in Prince Edward Co., VA proved 20 June 1864. James was about 90 years old when he wrote his will and it was contested by some of the children. James had two brothers, William and George, who emigrated at the same time. I think they moved to TN.
