    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yBC.2ACI/172.1.1 Message Board Post: Rec'd your interesting reply to my Rev. James Garden posting and would like very much to compare notes. My mother, Lucile Garden, was born in Prince Edward Co. and is decended directly from the line that "stayed" in that area of Virginia. I have lists of Rev. Garden's children and who they married but this has been "passed down" in the family. I have no exact records of proof at this time. Since I am a middle school art teacher, I will be busy until June 14th but would like you to e-mail me direct if you would like to compare notes. I may be going up to Va.in August and could also do a little more "searching." My e-mail is Artspeck@aol.com Pat Peck

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yBC.2ACI/484 Message Board Post: Can anyone tell me if Jesse Robertson/Robinson of Prince Edward Co., Va. is related to the Robertsons of Chesterfield County? His daughter, Mary, married Frederick Brown in P.E. County. In the 1783 & 1785 tax lists, Jesse is listed as a Robinson. He married Susannah Jones on Mar 11, 1777 in Prince Edw. County - daughter of David Jones and Anne Moore. Jesse and Mary Robertson had 7 children: David, Mildred, Mary, Susannah, Rebecca, Elijah, and Elisha. By 1811, they were living in Sumner County, TN. The child I'm mosly interested in is Mary Robertson who married Frederick Brown in Prince Edw. County on Dec 6, 1804, who also came to Sumner County. I suspect these families were in Chesterfield and/or Charlotte Counties prior to Prince Edw., but I haven't been able to connect Jesse with any family yet. HELP!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Baldwin, Garden Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yBC.2ACI/172.1 Message Board Post: I may be descended from Rev. Garden as well. There is an abstract from Greene county Georgia in 1790 from Benjamin and Sarah Baldwin to Nat. Barksdale for said Barksdale to conduct business in relation to land in Charlotte county that Sarah inherited from her father James Guardian (or Garden) as recorded in Charlotte Court House in 1792. There was also a Sarah Garden that married a Benjamin Baldwin in Charlotte county in 1785. It would appear possible that my Benjamin and Sarah in Georgia in 1790 are the same Benjamin and Sarah from Prince Edward/Charlotte counties Virginia. If anyone has any information, I would be glad to share what I have. Mary Paul Smith Jespersen Denmark

    3. I might point out that whoever posted that could have been attempting to get information they could use to compromise online bank accounts, etc. Many times you will be asked your mother's maiden name to verify your identity if you need to change passwords. I suggest someone trace that message and find out who it was from, and report them to the list administrator, if not to the authorities. 3. Ah, excuse me, but * I * am the list administrator for VAPRINCE, not glenn, whoever that is. I would caution the list AGAINST following this request. Each person should decide for themselves whether information about potentially living individuals (like your mother) should be published for all to see or not. If you want to discuss memories of your grandmother or great-grandmother, then I would encourage it -- AS LONG AS -- the person has a direct connection to Prince Edward County, VA. Please note that in the future, posts of this nature should be passed through me for approval first. -- Thanks for your cooperation, Mary Taffet List Admin for VAPRINCE mdtaffet@syr.edu On Fri, 10 May 2002 yubr@stargate.net wrote: > ATTENTION! 2. I am new to the list. I understand that some of my Prince Edward County ancestors attended the Buffalo Presbyterian Church. I have been able to find only a small amount of information on this church. Does anyone know of any source of more information concerning this church and any records taht may still be in existence? I am researching the following names with Prince Edward County Connections: Young, Grinter, Ewing, and Porter. Most of these individuals were already living in Kentucky (Butler and Logan Counties) by the early to mid 1800's. Thanks for Your Input, Tom D.
