She died in Prince Edward Co., Va (see Prince Edward Co., Va Will Book 3, pg 150). After her death her husband John Cole married Mary Whitlock (Wills) on 18 Aug 1772. This information was obtained from Joe Cole who lived in Halifax Co., Va and did a lot of research on the Cole families in Halifax, Lunenburg Charlotte, and Prince Edward Counties. Joe Cole died several years ago. I have been unable to find any information on Ann Livingstone's parents or siblings. Since Prince Edward Co, Va was formed from Amelia in 1754 and Amelia County was formed from Prince George and Brunswick Counties in 1735, the records of her parents maybe be in Amelia or Prince George Counties. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have seen a record of Ann Livingstone, Her parents, and or siblings. Thanks! Reginald L. Another approach to the Doctor (assuming given name) Davis was an interesting find. Sister to my grandmother Susan Estelle Davis (Della Maude Davis) was married to my paternal grandfather's brother (Davis Benjamin Foster) (d. 10/27/1933) and buried in an unmarked grave in a family plot adjoining my Davis/Foster family. Through cemetery records I was able to identify other members of Davis / Foster family. I know you said that cemetery records and funeral home records were not a reliable source. When you can come up with no other source, this at least gives me something to work from. Now I will need to go to the Roanoke, VA funeral home (Oakeys Funeral Home in Roanoke, VA) to ask for their records. You are very right that they are not always reliable sources as information was sometimes given by family members, have very little knowledge of the deceased, but they are a good tool to get started with, when no other source is available. Sometimes what we are looking for is just under our nose and finding that David B. Foster, m. to Della Davis was a link to father's side of the family. David B. Foster lived in Lithia, VA. Here again (the only information I have on him is Mercer County, WV 1850 Census records listing him as brother to my grandfather (Napoleon B. Foster). Ellen Foster Perdue / Roanoke, VA >>

I have been to Farmville, PEC and did some research. Old Hughes House http://www.hughesfamilies.com/mkhughes/hugheshouse.htm I believe you can make a link to George Robert Hughes; Travis Hughes never married after the war. He actually pointed out, very accomplished veteran. http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/mkhughes/HUGHES/i0000985.htm#i985 Take a look and let me know. I used to be in contact with Frances Hughes-Bragg, it is sad she passes away last year. I also was in contact with Bernard Slayton, he also has passed away. But, I still correspond with Peggy Slayton-Cartwright; she is the daughter of Pattie Odelle Hughes. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Mike Hughes
