Josiah Morton died in Rockingham County, NC in August 1844, leaving at least one son, Azariah Graves Morton. Final Pension Payment papers speak of an "only child" but Census enumerations and other information suggest Josiah Morton had been the father of more than one child. Josiah Morton appears to have moved into Caswell County, NC about 1795. Various on-line sources suggest that extensive records have survived for the Briery Presbyterian Church, which had many Morton members. Can anyone who is familiar with these records provide information about them? I understand there is a Session Book, and may be marriage records?

I have an Armes connection with the Crute family. Nancy Crute (daughter of John Lamkin Crute), b. ca 1788 married Willis Armes on 23 Mar 1820, in Pr Edward Co, VA. Willis may be the son of John Armes and wife Lucretia (surname unknown). Willis died prior to 20 Aug 1821. His will was written 16 May 1821 and recorded 20 Aug 1821 in Prince Edward Co, VA, Will Bk 5, page 538. This is all the info I have on any Armes connections.
