Eli Davidson and Joseph Cornelious Davidson lived in Buckingham County, and I'm trying to see if the Prince Edward Davidsons are their kin (and hence, my kin). Baker apparently married Elizabeth Womack in 1795, and they apparently had son also named Baker. I think they also had another son named Archer, and that Archer then had a son named Archer V. Davidson. This second Archer MAY have been a brother to Joseph Cornelious Davidson, but that is just speculation at this time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

----- Original Message ----- From: M.V. Gibson To: mdtaffet@syr.edu Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2003 12:24 PM Subject: Prince Edward genealogy I am trying to find information about my Vaughan ancestors in the 1700's. They were in Goochland to Bedford to Botetourt. Joseph Vaughan who married Ann Payne about 1790 in Goochland is believed to have been on tax or land records in Prince Edward in 1800. His name may have been written as Baughn rather than Vaughn. He is believed to have been in a business with two other men and maybe sold out in 1800. He appeared in Botetourt in 1801. If you can let me know anywho who may have access to records in 1800 I'd appreciate hearing from you. I have been trying for years to discover which of the many Vaughan's in the area were the parents of this Joseph Vaughan. He would have been born between 1735-1750. Thank you for any information. Mary

Patte - Just a bit of a correction to the info below: Henry P. Davis and second wife Sarah Frances Kyle (daughter of Barclay Kyle of Botetourt Co) had children Cassandra (b.1824) m. cousin ,William Kyle , Helen M.J.(b. 1827) m. James R. Thompson, Martha Frances (b. 1835) m. cousin James Madison Kyle and a Henry W. (b.1842) died before 1872 will of Henry P. I've searched for well over 30 years for a Davis family in PrEdw Co.... I have Peter Davis, who died in 1785--his wife said to be Lucy Cox. The only child I have of this couple (and likely the only descendant) was daughter Lucy Davis, who married Thomas Green abt 1753 in PE Co, and raised 10 children there. I'm anxious to know some more about any DAVIS line about that period who might well be a connection. I believe Lucy Davis to be an only child of Peter Davis, because he named in his estate only the Green children....his grandchildren.....and most of them appear to have carried Davis names as given names...
