I am looking for any records about William Blanton, the son of Thomas Blanton, Jr and Ann (unknown). I guess he would have been born about 1720-1725. Have been told maybe in Spotsylvania or Caroline County, Va. There were 4 brothers and i was just wondering if anyone had researched the known siblings. I think some of them went to Prince Edward County. I think they were John, Joshua, William, Richard, and maybe they also had another son named Thomas. . I have just started looking for my ancesters. HELP! We'll be leaving for a swing through Virginia on Wednesday (for genealogy purposes) and I need to decide soon if I should include Farmville. Can anyone tell me of any old Baptist churches (1870) that are in or near Farmville AND have cemeteries? I've checked the posted listings at SCVGS and havent found my William C. Davis (died 7/1870). He was Baptist, and may be buried (hopefully with wife Anna, who died ca 1917) in an small cemetery. I can't do much walking, so am hoping that I might be able to call some of these old churches to see if either are there. Please provide me with names of old Baptist Churches--and any info you have. I wonder if any Davis researcher in PE County has perhaps come across a William Covington DAVIS. In particular, I am looking for his 1874 gravesite. Also, his wife, Anna Belle Allen-DAVIS who died in Richmond, VA ca 1917-20, was supposedly buried in PE. They were both from the Farmville area, and operated a grocery business there during his lifetime (and she may have continued it afterwards). Any info is gratefully appreciated.
