For those of you interested I am in the process of trying to upload the book index onto the website so those of you that want to check for your family names before ordering one may do so. http://www.myvirginiaheritage.com/heritage_books/pittsylvania_county.htm This index was scanned from the book itself using OCR software. The software DOES make mistakes in character recognition on occasions. Therefore please use index with this in mind, some of the names may be spelled incorrectly. The index is so large that I cannot correct every mistake made by the software. I have corrected some of the more noticeable ones; I do believe there are only a few that may not be correct. I tried scanning the pages themselves without converting to text but the files were so large it took too long to upload them. I tried several different ways and this seems to be the best one. I have over 5 hours invested in this already but now that I know (hopefully) what I am doing it should not take as long for the remainder. Be patient, I'll eventually get it done.
