Tracing roots for: Smith, Samuel R, m. Louisa ? Smith, John Samuel, s.o. Samuel R Smith & Louisa, b. 10/16/1869, d. 01/11/1912, m. Cintha (or Cynthia) M. Oakes Smith, Sidney Johnson, s.o. John Samuel Smith & Cintha M. Oakes, b. 10/16/1869, d. 01/11/1912, m. Lou Emma McCrickard Smith, Robert Lee, s.o. Sidney Johnson Smith and Lou Emma McCrickard, b. 03/31/1911, d. 01/30/1973, m. Eula Gladys Williams and have hit a brick wall with Samuel R Smith and Louisa. There were several branches of Smiths in the Pittsylvania/ Franklin County area of Virginia; however, Cintha M. Oakes' grandmother was Ruth Smith, d.o. Lemuel Smith and Bethania Perkins, and I'm thinking that perhaps Samuel fits somewhere in this line of Smiths.
