    3. Hi Steve, I am also looking for Fergusons in Pittsylvania County, VA. My ancestor Elizabeth Ferguson was the second wife of Anthony P. Lipford. She was born about 1750-1760 and married Anthony P. Lipford on April 20, 1827 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Her sister Mary Ferguson married Pyrant Easley, Senior in 1806 in Pittsylvania County. Pyrant Easley, Jr. helped Elizabeth after her husband died (1860 Pittsylvania County Deed Book 59, pp. 543-544). In the 1880 census Elizabeth, age 91, was living with her nephew Pyrant Easley, Jr. In the 1850 census, Elizabeth (Ferguson) Lipford, age 60, was listed with Elizabeth Ferguson, age 17, both born in Virginia. I do not know who this 17 year old was, perhaps a niece. I have listed a brother of Elizabeth, William Ferguson II, born 1770-1780, married Rosa Ann Dunbar October 9, 1827 (perhaps the father of Elizabeth Ferguson listed above). SO, their father may have been William Ferguson if this is correct. You do not have a William Ferguson listed. Lists of Tithables for Pittsylvania County, VA, taken in 1767: taken by Hugh Innes John Ferguson, Negro Dinah William Ferguson Andrew Ferguson I hope someone can help find out more about this Ferguson line. I have some information on Robert Ferguson if you are interested.
