This list does not include dozens of cemeteries that are located off main highways down farm roads that have been blocked off by the current land owners, most of whom don’t reside there. Most have no fences and are being covered by weeds and fallen trees from storms, etc. Some are in remote areas where no one lives anymore. Luckily, the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogy Society has inscriptions for most of these, gathered over the past 40 years before they became inaccessable. Endangered are: Aaron, Faulker; Allen, James G.; Barbour, Berry; Barber, Wm; Barber-Rorer; Barker, Clark H.; Bennett, Booker; Berger, Seth; Blair, Wm A.Y.; Bradley, Thomas; Bryan, George; Burnett, Henry T.; Clopton, Robert; Cocke, Guy; Cocke, W.H.H.; Collins, David; Conway, Christopher; Crawley, Wm; Cumby, Wylie; Dallas, J.T.; Dalton, Wm; Davis, James W.; Dickenson, Rev. Griffeth; Dickenson, Wm A.; Dodson, Green; Glass, Willis; Goggin Cem; Hays, Ambrose; Henderson, W.T. Hodges, Adolphus; Hudson, Howard; Jones, Elisha; Lea-Gunter; McDowell, Wm V.; McLaughlin, Charles; Moorman, Achilles; Owen, Bruce; Parsons, Martha; Poindexter, Thomas; Reynolds, Charles; Rowles, Wm; Scholfield, Jacob; Shelhorse Cem.; Simpson, Wm R.; Smith, Edmund; Terry-Ford Cem.; Trent, James; Vaden, Granville; Wall, Emard; Womack-Power Cem.; Yeatts, Oba. It is particularly sad that the burial site on Hickeys Road of the beloved preacher Griffeth Dickenson (1757-1843) is in such bad shape. The graves have no fence around them and in the summer the stones are covered by tall weeds. The stones are barely readable.
