    3. I have another couple. Colbert on Deer View Rd, though I recently had a relative clean it as well as Scruggs near there. The other is a large cemetery with a number of markers in it. Beleive it or not, no one has taken down the info (that I've seen yet) and it's right behind Amos' grocery in Gretna, though you have to go either through someone's yard to get there, or behind the vets. The vet's shop was (long ago) a livery stable run by one of the Moon's. There is a large granite marker there for Daniel P. Moon, though he's not buried there. His second wife was. But, I guess the second set of kids didn't want to go out to the farm where he is buried along with a neice and a son, with granite markers for all three, but in the middle of the cornfield. There is also a large cemetery on what is/was Joe Farmer's farm on Dews Rd, but over run with cows at the moment. There are Moon's, Allen's Worshams and a number of others there. None of these appear in any of the current VA/NC books. I'm not sure anyone's surveyed the Ward cemetery off Rose St. near Brights. There are many Wards' as well as Leftwich's, and my ancestor, Robert Adams (he has a Rev. War marker there) and his brother, John Lynch Adams (also had a Rev. War marker, but I found his original stone in the grass and up righted it). There are hundreds of them. I have a number of them, but I know they are not in books. I'm not sure the Dove Cemetery on Jack Shelton's farm is in any book, as of yet. We're trying to have a memorial marker for William Dove, Rev. War soldier, sailor and marine installed there, as well as one for his son. There are many markers and many more "rocks" in a row. Thanks Mike for bringing up the subject. The saddest one I know of is a Yeatts Cemetery out on what was J Crawford Yeatts farm. It's totally in the woods now, though one section still in use is taken care of. However my GGGrandmother Sallie Keesee Colbert's pretty marble stone was about to be broken by a leaning cherry tree in 2000. I"m sure by now it's long gone. There were, perhaps, 50 stones in the woods, not maintained at all. Living far away, there is no way I can do them, but I surely wish some of my local cousins could get the weed whackers out now and then. 3. The way these cemetery inscriptions get in the VA/NC PGS publications and files is for those who visit the cemeteries to write down the inscriptions and location of the cemetery and send it to the society. We have published five volumes of those we do have and are collecting for the next volume. We would greatly appreciate anyone sharing their cemetery data with us to help preserve this important information for future searchers. Having them in the society files at the library ensures their continued value. Visit the society's web page : www.rootsweb.com/~vancpgs/ Mary Leigh Boisseau Karen Wood wrote: > I have another couple.
