Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hodnett married Jefferson D. Davis on 7 December 1887 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Jefferson was son of Jacob T. Davis and Martha J. ?. Betty was daughter of James C. Hodnett and Lucy John McLaughlin. Betty had earlier married John W. Lewis on 13 December 1871 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. My story of James C.
