    3. Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Weaver, of Tunnel Hill, GA, and I am a direct descendant of Henry Motley (b- Oct 4, 1790, d. Feb 11, 1853) Of Pittsylvania Co, Va. He was the son of Captain Daniel Motley and Sarah Payne. Henry Motley Married Elizabeth H. Tabb, Jan 14, 1812, and had my Great-Great-Great Grandfather Isaac "Otey" Motley Apr 19, 1829. He married Lucy W. Williams Dec 24, 1845, and they divorced later. Of this marriage came my Great Great Grandfather Thomas Henry Motley (1847-1915). Thomas Henry Motley married Sarah Diar Bise (1857-1950) and they begat my Great grandfather Rev. William Samuel Motley (1878-1956). Rev William Samuel Motley married my Great Grandmother Eva Ella Lena Ledbetter (1887-1919). They had my Grandfather James Elroy Motley(1906-1985) and he Married my Grandmother Amanda Elizabeth Smith (1919- ). They had my Mother Deana Gail Motley, who had me! Now at some point my Great grandfather moved south to South Pittsburg, in Marion Co Tennessee, and m! y Grandfather moved even farther south to North Ga. Some of my family legend says that my great grandfather Otey Motley, left his wife and ran off to Texas in 1858 with a woman of color. My Great Grandfather Henry Motley's land was called Sandy River Plantation. His home place was a log home with a chimney at each end, located at the site occupied in 1995 by the National Guard Armory across North Main Street from Highland Cemetery in Danville, Va. His estate when he died consisted of a farm house and a town house in Danville. He had 69 slaves, and was worth 34,000 dollars. I am so interested in my ancestors if anyone out there is a distant relative or you have any more interesting stories about my ancestors, please feel free to drop me an e-mail at [email protected] Thanks Amanda.
