I've seen several post in the past few days re the RIVES/REEVES/REAVES family of the area. My interest is the connection to my THOMAS FLETCHER b.1762 who lived Pittsylvania Co and then purchased land in 1807 on BRADLEY CREEK from William Burk for 60 pounds 100 acres on CHARLES RIVES and Wm. Carrs line. When THOMAS FLETCHER wrote his will, which was probated in Halifax County, he still owned 100 acres, and the will was witnessed by PETER RIVES and PETER M. RIVES. I'm interested in finding if this family was related. Thomas Fletcher family descended from Brunswick as did the Rives family and before then were in Prince George/Dinwiddie as were the Rives family.
