Realizing that in 1752 Halifax Virginia was created out of Lunenburg and included land which would be in present day Pittsylvania County, Virginia.. I am seeking more information on: JOHN FLITCHER (1) tithe p.197 of the 1752 Lunenburg Tithes list In 1749 on Aarons Creek John FLETCHER had obtained some land "Footprints of Halifax & Pittsylvania Counties" MARY FLETCHER listed in Halifax County Plea Book No 5 Part 2 "The churchwardens of Antrim Parish Plts vs. Mary Fletcher defendant, in debt. For reasons appearing, suit dismissed." JAMES FLETCHER Halifax Plea Book #6 1776-1770 "JAMES FLETCHER, plaintiff, against Edward Young, in debt" Does anyone know who these Fletcher people were? Any relation to THOMAS FLETCHER b.circa 1762 who married Keziah Farris in 1790 there at Pittsylvania ? Recent DNA studies tie this Thomas Fletcher to the James Fletcher line of Brunswick Co.,Va... but this James Fletcher died in Brunswick in 1778 and was not at Halifax at this time Thanks for any help, Nadine Christall
